I am going to gather plants, flowers, berries and foliage from the house and garden.

There are a few plants in my garden which are bearing berries at the moment, so I plan to take advantage of this and hope to be able to capture their form in a pleasing and exciting way.

I feel this is a reasonable approach, as many artists find inspiration for what they draw and paint in their immediate vicinity, including William Morris and Vincent van Gogh whose work I have looked at recently.

I plant to push my use of collage further, printing some of my own papers and use this in my drawings, in order to capture the colours and textures of my chosen plants.

I also plan to use printing to capture leaf shapes and how the shapes repeat down the stem of the plant.

I am also looking to be able to capture the translucent qualities of the basil leaves and orchid petals on my chosen plants.

I have chosen a plant which is simultaneously bearing berries and flowers, which in itself is interesting to me and should be interesting to draw.
