Research point 3: Flowers, trees and plants by David Hockney

After some research on David Hockney's drawings and paintings of trees, plants and flowers I selected some some pictures to add to my research sketchbook for inspiration. I am struck by his power to use many different marks in his charcoal works and the ease with which he seems to translate this into drawing with an iPad:
